In the below photograph from the film set for Shawn Goldberg's "The Detective" shot in Montreal in 1992, author Matthew Brown looks a lot like character Mutt Blue from the next issue of my comic book THE CLIFF: Book 3--"Murder in Varanasi" (soon to be released) ...

THE CLIFF BOOK 3... Coming Soon!

THE CLIFF, Book 3: "Murder in Varanasi" is nearing completion! 

I am super-excited about this chapter which continues the misadventures of Mutt Blue and Poopsie the Penguin, and introduces :"The King," Luxy Fan Belt, Mei-Mei Castiglione and Poopsie's glamorous but frustrated assistant, Rebecca Nurse.  The artwork is better, the story is stranger, and subterranean themes are taking shape in the shadows.

The launch is still in the planning stages, but I have some exciting acts lined up and a good time is promised for all.  In the meantime, here are some rough sketches that lead up to the final cover image, displayed below!

The Sad Elephant Returns!

This is the best video yet from jazz pianist Denis Plekhanov of Russia, adapting my comic strip "The Sad Elephant" from 2002 with his own montage and soundtrack... I laughed out loud several times while watching this (although a sad laugh, of course, out of respect to the elephant...)

I am delighted to say that Russian pianist Denis Plekhanov has now turned his hand to interpreting my comix, starting with the classic "MILK WITH KNIFE" adventure featuring Poopsie the Penguin, from 1990... and I am blown away.
